Enough Already!

I blame Chicago and their Cows on Parade for the horror that is "Disco Turtle" on the corner of Georgia Avenue and Colesville Road.

At the time, the Cows were different and fun, but now would someone please stop torturing us with badly-designed, no longer unique [Yes, Amanda, the disco-thing - It's been done] plaster animal statues as "art?"

Since I've lived in the DC area, I have been subjected to:

elephants and donkeys,
piggy banks,
and -of all things-
crabs (Baltimore has crabs. *heh*).

Now, we are going to be overrun by turtles, or I suppose I should say, terrapins.

It makes me want to gouge my eyeballs out.

  1. ooh ooh ooh...check it out... cows on parade: buenos aires edition COP:BAE!!!

there was a building full of white cows ready to be painted. the one in the photo was on the sidewalk in front of the building probably to prepare the populace for the invasion.

  2. Anonymous11:04 PM

They have giant fiberglass penguins all over Tulsa! It was initially to advertise the new penguin exhibit at the Zoo, but then they sold them all to different businesses in town, who repainted them (cow print for Gateway, brown for some tanning salon, stuff like that). Ugh.

  3. go here

Joe Fafard and see more cows. he's a canadian artist.
