Time Warp

Can someone explain how one can get up about 45 minutes early and, yet, almost be late for work? Hm? I was up at 6AM this morning to go running. I took a picture on my cell phone, but decided against posting it. VUBOQ at 6AM is not pretty . And VUBOQ does not want to break the innarnexts. That would be bad. Luckily, one of my neighbors was also going running at that time, so, if no one believes that I was actually up that early, I can get a signed sworn affidavit from her. So there. HA! I ran/walked for about 30 minutes or so, came home, checked email, took a shower, had coffee and a scone, then ... um ... crawled back into bed for a cuddle with Y. Ah. *cuddles* It's amazing what getting a good night's sleep will do, because, when I got up again (at 7:30) to get dressed for work, someone was feeling a leeeeeeeeeeeeeetle frisky . Which probably explains why I was running late for work. But I think a good morning fork [and it was good ;-)] is well worth the bus fare and ...

Meat-Free Monday: Sex Over Food Edition

Yeah, so, I didn't cook last night. Y called at about 3:30 to see if I could come over either tonight or tomorrow. Since I'm having internet connected tonight, I went over there last night. I did a few things at home -strained the lemon ginger infused vodka , fed and watered the kitty, packed an over night bag, and ate leftover rice and beans. Then, I headed over to Y's. We messed around a bit. He did some more school work. Then, we ate a late, light dinner of cheese and crackers and salad, accompanied by a delicious lemon ginger vodka cocktail (*rowr*). Then, we had teh buttsecks. And lots of it. *aaaah* I feel so much less stressed out now. Although I do have some lingering concerns [not about Y] that I will have to deal with eventually. Not much on the agenda today other than INTRANEST! *WOOT* Them bitches better come today or I willz be pissed ... er ... pissedER. I may cook something special tonight or tomorrow, which I will use as my Meat-Free "Monday...

Vuboq's Birthday Eve Eve

Need a few things to do to while away the hours on Vuboq's Birthday Eve Eve? First, repeat steps 1-4 of yesterday's entry as needed. Second, take a few moments to read this article to see why several "power" bloggers have temporarily misplaced their senses of humor and have gotten their collective panties all in a knot: Stating the Obvious by Garrison Keillor Check out Famous Author Rob Byrnes' blog for his commentary and links to "the knotted." Seriously, shouldn't more people be pissed off about Marine General Pace's hate speech than a -rather boring- piece of obvious satire written by a well-known humorist? Which brings us to the subject of humor ... How do we know what is funny and what isn't? As I read my story to the class last night, there were several instances in which everyone in the class laughed. As I was writing the story, my intention was to be witty and clever, not laugh-out-loud funny. Maybe it's funnier read aloud ...

There and Back Again

Before I get into my weekend adventures and insecurities, a few tidbits: It snowed. See photo. I finished my knittens. Photo forthcoming (hopefully). I have apparently been banned for life from Scott-o-Rama . *sniff* So, the weekend ... pab picked me up from Union Station a little after 10AM. He was late. This did not make me happy. He bought me coffee, so I became happier. We got to the hotel (Hilton Garden) in Williamsburg around 1PM. We checked in. We got settled. We had sex. It was ... ok. I mean, I suppose that I was expecting something a little more toe-curlingly amazing, considering that he only ever has oral sex. You would think that someone who "specialized," so to speak, would be, well, friggin' fantastic. Perhaps, my expectations were set too high. I mean, it wasn't bad. It just wasn't ... well, I guess it wasn't Mike, who as we know gives the best blowjobs ever. And, I was expecting something at or above the Level of Mike. *sigh* We cleaned up and...

The View from Uranus

The date yesterday with pab was quite fun. He picked me up around noon and we drove to National Airport to return his rental. He has this weird philosophy about not putting mileage on his car, so, whenever he takes a roadtrip, he rents. To each their own, ne? After dropping off the car, we ended up at this little restaurant in Del Ray (augh. VA, again) for lunch. I had a sandwich with roasted eggplant tomato basil mozzarella. Quite yummy. Then, we drove back into Civilization to visit the National Portrait Gallery. It was all right. After awhile I began to feel "portrait overload." Seriously, how many paintings of people can you look at, thinking "Hm. Should I know who this person is?" before you go absolutely bonkers? The answer is apparently ten. I did enjoy the American Art sections of the museum. Were those Noguchi settees and tables in the Modern Art section? I believe they were. Placed there for the huddled masses to enjoy. Hot! The Joseph Cornell exhibit was ...
