Good Morning, Kittens. What you are looking at through sleep-wearied eyes is an exciting discovery I made yesterday! Look closely and I think you will agree that this is the first photographic evidence in Quite Some Time of the endangered species, Arborus sockii , subspecies ilexliveinsii . I spotted this notoriously shy species on my walk home from pottery class. In fact, although it is quite difficult to distinguish between males and the females, I believe I have photographed this pair in the midst of their complicated mating ritual! Oh, how I wish I had had a video camera so you could see the way the male displayed his stripes so lasciviously. And, the female was obviously aroused by the male aroma, which -to me- smelled a lot like week-old gym socks ... but, to each their own, right? Maybe this couple will produce viable offspring, and College Park will become home to a new family of Holly-dwelling Tree Socks! Even the sky this morning was celebrating our Canadian friend's Special Day . And, I'm sure he would have something deeply profound and poetic to say about it. All I could muster was, "Oooh. Pretty."
