At Least Uranus Is Still a Planet

From the WaPo: Pluto Is No Longer a Planet, Astronomers Say

The new definition of planet is "a celestial body that is in orbit around the sun, has sufficient mass for its self-gravity to overcome rigid body forces so that it assumes a ... nearly round shape, and has cleared the neighborhood around its orbit."

As for Uranus, it has definitely cleared the neighborhood.

Poor Pluto. No longer a planet. Simply Mickey Mouse's pet. *sigh*

  2. It's a strange turn of events when VUBOQ beats me to a news post about Astronomy.

Aren't you too pretty to worry your little head about science-y-stuff?
