Meanwhile, I was going to blog about what people should do with their stimulus checks*. I may save that for another day ...

Now, take the poll. And tell me why you chose what you chose in the comments.

*Here's a suggestion: Send them to soon-to-be-unemployed VUBOQs

    "breakfast" is a classic.

have no interest in "clueless" - I interact with those people every day.

"ferris" and "steel" - I already have them.

    "sense" - my second choice.

my "stimulus" has already been spent on 4 new car tires and a new refrigerator. no choice.

  2. I just dumped off all of my VHSes, including Ferris Bueller's Day Off, at the Good Will. Part of THE GREAT PURGE of '08. So I will be requiring a new copy.

  3. Do I HAVE to buy a DVD?

I guess Breakfast at Tiffany's because it's a classic and will look good, still wrapped in its original plastic from the store, sitting untouched on my bookshelf.

Don't assume we all are going to get stimulus checks. I'm not hanging by my mailbox expecting anything.

  4. I picked "Steel Magnolias" 'cause I don't already own it and I especially love Olympia Dukakis in it. I think I have Ferris already.

TurboTax tells me I make too much to get a stimulus check. Had I gotten one, it would have gone to paying down debt, rather than into the general economy, since that's where any extra income needs to go.

  5. I chose Sense and Sensibility (although I like all the other ones as well) because you really can't go wrong with Jane Austen. She is the mistress of the politely veiled insult. You can't go wrong with witty repartee. :D

  6. I picked Steel because it was written by a gay man about gay men, only they are played by people like Dolly Parton.

  7. Clueless, because I don't really want Bueller and I already have the other three.
With my stimulus check I will pay off the credit card that's still smoking from the new tires I needed...

  8. Breakfast At Tiffany's.. because even if the others are good, Hepburn is classic. And she knits in it! (sort of..)

  11. Breakfast at Tiffany's because of the sleeping mask.
Clueless is bad, maybe because it doesn't translate well...
Don't know Ferris Bueller, should I?
Sense and sensibility and Steel Magnolia come ex aequo as my second choice.
My stimulus will go as buying a PS3to go with my new giant flatscreen HD TV.

  12. I picked Breakfast at Tiffany's. I've never seen it. Never seen Clueless or Steel Magnolias either, but don't think I'd care enough for either of those to want to own them. (And I stubbornly REFUSE to see the Magnolias one. I read the playscript back in the 80s and hated it intensely. Really, I must have issues.)
