VUBOQ Contemplates $1300 of Eyewear

I had fun at My Eye Doctor, trying on all sorts of interesting frames, which I've narrowed down to three. I will probably end up buying two (which with insurance and discounts will be considerably less than $1300 ... hopefully).

Unfortunately, I could only find 2 of the styles on line. The unpictured glasses are Bellagio - they have a shiny silver half-frame, are very narrow, and are fairly unnoticeable. Conservative, classy, not memorable.

Here is Frame 1:
Etnia Kiev in Yellow/Brown. I actually look good in these. My concern is the wide side thingies.

Here is Frame 2:



Scott Harris in "Brown," even though they are RED. I look good in these too. This pair would be my "work" pair, as they are slightly more conservative than the Etnia. Unless I buy the Bellagio frames. Then, these would become my "fun" pair.

I need to call and make an appointment soon. And also consult again with how much my insurance will cover.

Any thoughts?

    I like the first one with yellow but I am sure it would limit your outfit selection since yellow doesn't go with every color... I sometimes get jealous of those who can wear glasses...

    I like Frame 2. I agree with Shigeki that the yellow on the sides of Frame 1 would be hard to accommodate.

    i think it all depends on how (if at all) the yellow part blends in with your skin tone and how it interacts with your bone structure. it potentially is verstile. i would say try them, take pix, and then poll the people..

Shaken. Bruised. And Just the Facts.

This is not the post I was intending to write this evening, but ... I need to write things down to sort them out in my head as best as possible. At approximately 2:50PM on my walk home from the metro station, I was attacked from behind. I have walked down Wayne Avenue at least twice a day for 5 years, at all hours of the day and night. I have always felt perfectly safe doing so. Even today didn't seem out of the ordinary. As I approached the intersection of Dale and Wayne, I passed a young black man in his early 20s. I made eye contact and nodded. I crossed Dale and heard a noise. I turned and saw someone running up Dale. That's when I noticed someone following me. I turned off my iPod and reached for my phone. And he jumped me, putting me in a chokehold and trying to pull me to the ground. I began hitting him over my shoulder with my large umbrella (which, sadly, is now in pieces). 12 of 12: It's Been a Long Time Edition

Good Evening, Kittens. Look! It's my 12 of 12 for January ... Some of us have to get up at 5:30 AM ... even if the Evil Snow Shovelers are shoveling snow at 1:30AM and it wakes us up and keeps us up for an hour. Even though we get up at 5:30 AM ... sometimes we don't make it to the metro station until Much Later (*cough* 7:45 *cough*) ... but then we get on a train and it whizzes (*heh*) through the snowscape. Eventually (meaning "forEVER"), I arrive at work and see ... snow-covered bicycles. Check email. Eat breakfast. Die one thousand deaths before 9AM. Meetings. Paperwork. Incompetence. *ROWR* Creating survey. Annoying little pop-up thing that Won't. Go. Away. How cute are these boots? How CUTE are these BOOTS?
