Tail of the Cock

Here's a question for you:

Someone wants to make a NEW and EXCITING cocktail, using the following:

creme de cacao
and
chili-infused vodka

However, he does not want the magic third ingredient to be anything dairy-like.
No cows were harmed in the making of this cocktail, kittens!
moo.

What should he use?

  1. Coffee liquor? Cinnamon? Do I get one if I guess right?

Well I'd put those first two into coffee or hot cocoa in a heartbeat (you can make your cocoa w/o milk). Yummy on a cold evening (while carving pumpkins).

PS: I found you through Bossy.

  4. madmad: I am liking the coffee idea. Maybe a splash of cold coffee? Mmmm ...

gayprof: Isn't that hazelnut flavored? Hm .. not sure how that would work. And might make the whole concoction too boozy.

joe: Yes. I made it myself. It's SPICY!

heather outside boston: VUBOQ loves BOSSY! I like the coffee idea ... I wonder if the hot cocoa would overwhelm the creme de cacao? Also I want to make a cold drink. I will keep the cocoa idea filed away for this Winter though!

Off the top of my head I would suggest a hint of Midori (honeydew melon flavored liquor) to lighten up the chocolate/chili flavor. I imagine the taste would be unusual to say the least, but could be interesting.

Another one you might try is Blue Curaçao (orange flavored). Chocolate and Orange always go together.

  6. lakeman from wi: I have this bottle of Blue Curacao from a 4th of July Party I held several years ago. I was going to make red, white and blue drinks. They turned out purple (I guess the densities were too similar to layer?). I haven't used it since because I can't unscrew the lid. It crusted into place somehow.

  8. Being a student and thus uneducated in the finer complexities of cocktail making... (we live on bottles of cheap white wine here...) all i can say is...

    eurgh!

won't it go all curdle-y and funny?

  9. I second GayProf's comment: nothing's too boozy, dear.
