I'm Back (from Vacation)

I'm back. I will be posting about my vacation soon.  Well, soonish ... maybe this weekend.  I dunno. Also, I came back to a big pile of stress at work.  Good times. Can I go on vacation again?  (Why, yes. Yes, I can.  I'll be flying to Atlanta for Pesach.  Just the weekend.  Not the whole dang thing.  My body needs gluten. And, then, a quick trip to NC in early May to see the 'rents.) ANYWAY.  Israel and Latvia posts coming up. Stay tuned. Or just look at the pix on my IG. *hugz*

Shaken. Bruised. And Just the Facts.

This is not the post I was intending to write this evening, but ... I need to write things down to sort them out in my head as best as possible. At approximately 2:50PM on my walk home from the metro station, I was attacked from behind. I have walked down Wayne Avenue at least twice a day for 5 years, at all hours of the day and night. I have always felt perfectly safe doing so. Even today didn't seem out of the ordinary. As I approached the intersection of Dale and Wayne, I passed a young black man in his early 20s. I hit myself in the head a couple times, too, and have a few lumps. He pulled me to the ...

12 of 12: It's Been a Long Time Edition

Good Evening, Kittens. Look! It's my 12 of 12 for January ... Some of us have to get up at 5:30 AM ... even if the Evil Snow Shovelers are shoveling snow at 1:30AM and it wakes us up and keeps us up for an hour. Even though we get up at 5:30 AM ... sometimes we don't make it to the metro station until Much Later (*cough* 7:45 *cough*) ... but then we get on a train and it whizzes (*heh*) through the snowscape. Eventually (meaning "forEVER"), I arrive at work and see ... snow-covered bicycles. Check email. Eat breakfast. Die one thousand deaths before 9AM. Meetings. Paperwork. Incompetence. *ROWR* Creating survey. Annoying little pop-up thing that Won't. Go. Away. How cute are these boots? How CUTE are these BOOTS? Wandering around taking photos of damage in my building ... Don't Panic. It's almost Go Home Time. It's a good thing the Count of Monte Cristo is 3261 pages long. Red Line Delays on the way home. *ughz* Laundry! Icicle! And, soon. ...
