Tuesday's Grey and Wednesday too

Good Morning, Kittens.

Yesterday was totes dreary and cold and rainy. I had planned to go for a run, but I no run in the rain. Srsly. What up with people who do that?

I was also planning on sleeping in, but had a work related call at 8:43AM. What up with people who do that?

Then, I couldn't go back to sleep. So I blobbed around the house.

At 1PM, I had a work conference call. For an hour. On a Federal Holiday. At least I could bill the time - 2 hours, since I spent an hour afterwards typing up my notes from the call.

Around 4, I went up to Tomokito's for Martini Time with Baby Hana. Baby Hana loves the martinis.

Later, I did laundry.

Then, my New Boots arrived. *heart* I am wearing them today. Be jealous of me and my New Boots.

Today, after work, my New Boots and I are going to Men's Wearhouse. They are having a buy one get one free sale on suits. I need a new suit (or two!). I'm thinking brown and navy, since I already have charcoal gray.

Have a great day. *smooches*

I'm Back (from Vacation)

I'm back. I will be posting about my vacation soon.  Well, soonish ... maybe this weekend.  I dunno. Also, I came back to a big pile of stress at work.  Good times. Can I go on vacation again?  (Why, yes. Yes, I can.  I'll be flying to Atlanta for Pesach.  Just the weekend.  Not the whole dang thing.  My body needs gluten. And, then, a quick trip to NC in early May to see the 'rents.) ANYWAY.  Israel and Latvia posts coming up. Stay tuned. Or just look at the pix on my IG. *hugz*

Shaken. Bruised. And Just the Facts.

This is not the post I was intending to write this evening, but ... I need to write things down to sort them out in my head as best as possible. At approximately 2:50PM on my walk home from the metro station, I was attacked from behind. I have walked down Wayne Avenue at least twice a day for 5 years, at all hours of the day and night. I have always felt perfectly safe doing so. Even today didn't seem out of the ordinary. As I approached the intersection of Dale and Wayne, I passed a young black man in his early 20s. I made eye contact and nodded. I crossed Dale and heard a noise. I turned and saw someone running up Dale. That's when I noticed someone following me. I turned off my iPod and reached for my phone. And he jumped me, putting me in a chokehold and trying to pull me to the ground. I began hitting him over my shoulder with my large umbrella (which, sadly, is now in pieces). I hit myself in the head a couple times, too, and have a few lumps. He pulled me to the ...

12 of 12: It's Been a Long Time Edition

Image
Good Evening, Kittens. Look! It's my 12 of 12 for January ... Some of us have to get up at 5:30 AM ... even if the Evil Snow Shovelers are shoveling snow at 1:30AM and it wakes us up and keeps us up for an hour. Even though we get up at 5:30 AM ... sometimes we don't make it to the metro station until Much Later (*cough* 7:45 *cough*) ... but then we get on a train and it whizzes (*heh*) through the snowscape. Eventually (meaning "forEVER"), I arrive at work and see ... snow-covered bicycles. Check email. Eat breakfast. Die one thousand deaths before 9AM. Meetings. Paperwork. Incompetence. *ROWR* Creating survey. Annoying little pop-up thing that Won't. Go. Away. How cute are these boots? How CUTE are these BOOTS? Wandering around taking photos of damage in my building ... Don't Panic. It's almost Go Home Time. It's a good thing the Count of Monte Cristo is 3261 pages long. Red Line Delays on the way home. *ughz* Laundry! Icicle! And, soon. ...
