Wait. It's Only Wednesday?

Good Evening, Kittens.

I'm in the midst of the dryer cycle (and eating cookies) and thought I would take a few minutes to post.

Work is work. Life is life. On the plus side, there may be a date on Friday (after Tomokito's Bad Mommy Happy Hour).

How about we give away a Poor Little Vase Who Needs a Home? I have 20 pieces of pottery from this session. I have already picked the ONE I am allowed to keep. 6 others have been tagged as Xmas (or other) presents. Which means (if you are as good at math as I am), I have eleventygabillion pieces of pottery to get rid of ...

This cute little vase, glazed in warm jade and Lisa's favorite blue, is 4.5 inches tall and 5.5 inches wide (at the mouth). It's a little heavy, weighing less than my refrigerator and more than a martini glass. And it needs a Good Home. Somewhere to be loved. Somewhere to belong. And, that, my friends, is not in my apartment.

So, here's the deal ... take a look at the photos. Decide if you can provide a loving home for a kinda ugly vase. Leave a comment describing how you will create a Happy Home for it. And, like, maybe tomorrow or the next day, I'll decide who to send it to. Doesn't that sound like fun?

    Last year you gave me two pieces of pottery. My sister fell in love with one, and stole it from me. The remaining piece is lonely, and needs a friend (or two). :)

    Being completely honest? I'd try to plant something in it, forget to water it and let it die. And then the handcrafted-with-love-by-none-other-than-VUBOQ-himself vase would sit on my counter behind my sink with a dead, dried up old skeleton of a plant for a year or two until my hubby gets sick of it, dumps the plant, washes the vase and puts it away in a cupboard which I will only discover a year or two later and be all, "Hey--here's that cool vase that VUBOQ made--I've totally been wondering where it was!"

    True story.

    I came here via Bossy. I love blue glazes. I love pottery. My husband tends to break anything that comes into our home.
    SO... I would give your vase a good home by bringing it to my office, where it can reside safely on my desk and be admired all day long. I would also name it whatever you would like. Or Fred.

If We Took a Holiday ...

 Happy Presidents' Day! Since I last posted, so much has happened ... I think.   I was going to bake my parents heart-shaped biscuits, because -when we were wee lads- my mom used to bake my brother and I heart-shaped biscuits on Valentine's morning.  They were not as good as the biscuits I make now. However, after I grated the frozen butter in my food processor, I tipped it out into the flour and the handle on the food processor broke.  The bowl fell into the flour.  I dug out a few pieces of plastic and a spring, and I threw it all in the trash.  I called the manufacturer.  They are sending me a new bowl ... in 2-3 weeks.  UGH.  HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO MAKE BISCUITS NOW?!?!? The SigNoth caught a cold, so Valentine's Day was even more of a bust.  Not that I really buy into the whole pseudo-holiday thing anyway. Saturday, I did my taxes. Too Early But Not Early Enough

 6:00AM. With the new normal, I should be on a bus to the metro station, where I board a train and then another train to arrive at my office bright and early and chipper as a newborn squirrel. Today is special, though.  It's Pottery Class Registration Day.  Which is surprisingly competitive.  The DMV has too many Type A Soccer Moms (and Dads). In order to register for class, I have to log on at 6:30AM and hope the Pottery Gods are kind to me in the registration queue.  We shall see ... so exciting. After I register, I will then board a bus and a train ... and another train to get to my office.  Depending on what time I arrive, I will either work late (ugh) or take some leave (also, ugh).  Being totally honest, I will more than likely take leave because I hate being at work late.   This would be a perfect day to telework.  If we were allowed to telework.  Too bad Danger Yam (as one of my mutuals calls He Who Must Not Be Named) thinks...
