Weekend Update: Not Quite Yet Edition

Good morning, Kittens. 
 
Well, here it is.  Tuesday morning.  And I still haven't posted about my weekend.   And I have an excuse.  I do.  And it's a really really good one.  You see, I want to include pictures.  Which means I have to blog from home (rather than via email from work).  Which means I have to upload the photos (all seven of them!) from my camera. And, when one gets home late on a Monday night and then has martinis with Tomokito until bedtime, the blog post doesn't get written.
 
But the weekend was REALLY fun.  And I can't wait to tell you all about it.  Except I have to wait (because I want to include photos ... didn't we cover this already?).
 
And, it's likely that I won't be able to post tonight (because I have a date).  Unless the date is cancelled/postponed.  Then, it could happen.
 
I might be able to do it on Wednesday (but I also have a date scheduled that night).
 
If not, I am free on Thursday evening.  So, I will definitely post about my weekend that night (unless I schedule another date ... but I don't think I will ... because I have a date on Friday night and four dates in a row is too much even for me to handle).  Better late than never, right? 
 
So, stay tuned.  Lots of fun and excitement is in store for us all!

Shaken. Bruised. And Just the Facts.

This is not the post I was intending to write this evening, but ... I need to write things down to sort them out in my head as best as possible. At approximately 2:50PM on my walk home from the metro station, I was attacked from behind. I have walked down Wayne Avenue at least twice a day for 5 years, at all hours of the day and night. I have always felt perfectly safe doing so. Even today didn't seem out of the ordinary. As I approached the intersection of Dale and Wayne, I passed a young black man in his early 20s. I made eye contact and nodded. I crossed Dale and heard a noise. I turned and saw someone running up Dale. That's when I noticed someone following me. I turned off my iPod and reached for my phone. And he jumped me, putting me in a chokehold and trying to pull me to the ground. I began hitting him over my shoulder with my large umbrella (which, sadly, is now in pieces). 12 of 12: It's Been a Long Time Edition

Good Evening, Kittens. Look! It's my 12 of 12 for January ... Some of us have to get up at 5:30 AM ... even if the Evil Snow Shovelers are shoveling snow at 1:30AM and it wakes us up and keeps us up for an hour. Even though we get up at 5:30 AM ... sometimes we don't make it to the metro station until Much Later (*cough* 7:45 *cough*) ... but then we get on a train and it whizzes (*heh*) through the snowscape. Eventually (meaning "forEVER"), I arrive at work and see ... snow-covered bicycles. Check email. Eat breakfast. Die one thousand deaths before 9AM. Meetings. Paperwork. Incompetence. *ROWR* Creating survey. Annoying little pop-up thing that Won't. Go. Away. How cute are these boots? How CUTE are these BOOTS? Wandering around taking photos of damage in my building ... Don't Panic. It's almost Go Home Time. It's a good thing the Count of Monte Cristo is 3261 pages long.
