Good Evening, Kittens. I am back to work. *ugh* The 5:15AM wake-up time is as awful as I remembered it being. And the people I work for are as clusterfuckified as I remember them being. Although I am glad to be gainfully employed, I totally need a new jerbz. Anyway, Monday night, I got a couple of pieces of pottery back ... the platter pictured above, this soup mug-like thing: And another platter, which will be a wedding present for some friends who are getting married next week. And, on Tuesday, my first day back in the office, the Space Shuttle Discovery stopped by to say "Welcome Back to Work." My co-worker and I climbed up on the roof on the south side of our building, and I managed to take a short video: And, there you have it. Good times for all involved. *smooches*

Weekend Update: Sweaty McDripperson Edition

Good Morning, Kittens! Happy Monday! I hope you all had an uberFabulous Weekend o' Fun. I certainly did. On Friday night, I met E for snacks/drinks. And then we went to see Despicable Me in 3-D. It was a cute movie. Funny. Uplifting. But dragged in parts. After the movie, E offered to drive me home, which I accepted. Then, he was all like "Can I come in for a minute?" And I was all like "OK." And then, once he was inside, he was all "Maybe I should give you a massage?" And I was all like "OK." And did I mention that E is FIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINE? Like, OMG, SuperHOT? So, I guess you know where the night ended up. And it was well worth it. Good times. Saturday, I slept in. Then, I went to the Giant to buy cleaning supplies and food. Rather than cleaning my bathroom, I made a video for BOSSY's Tempur-Pedic Mattress Giveaway. I hope I win: I made a pasta salad. And, then, I invited A over to *ahem* watch m...

Weekend Update: What? You Were Expecting Snow Pix Edition

Image
Good morning, Kittens! I'm sure I'll be posting some snow pix later on in the day (since I have nothing better to do with my time), but I thought you'd like to be greeted this morning the same way I was on Sunday morning. Anyway, the weekend was fun. Friday night, after having a few glass of pre-party wine with SCGB, we went to one of the neighbor's for Game Night and take-out Chinese. I played Settlers of Catan for the first time ever ... and totally. kicked. ass. I rock the Stratergery Games! Go me! Saturday morning? Slightly overhung. *oog* In the afternoon, I met Mike (He Who Bakes teh Cakes) at Takoma Park Metro Station and we went to the Takoma Park Film Festival , which one of my neighbors organizes. It was fun. The session we went to was themed around "Consumption." So there was a documentary about obesity, one about a bicycle co-op, and one about Stuff (which was a good introduction to some complicated issue, but I found it to be somewhat s...

No Exit

Good (Good Lord, How did it get to be) Afternoon, Kittens! Yesterday, after my Super Hot Lunchdate with ShallowGal (and Spawn #3), I enjoyed boozy milkshakes with a couple of neighbors. Then, around 8:30PM, I met three more neighbors at McGinty's, the "Irish" pub in hip, happenin' downtown Silver Spring. I had a super yummy salad (spinach and chickpea, with goat cheese and a roasted red pepper dressing) and too many Boddingtons (a creamy ale) for my own good. Fun times, but I'm not so sure I'm even going to leave the house today. Good times overload, methinks. Of course, not leaving the house means that my 12 of 12 for today is going to be SuperExciting. Mmhm. That's right. To give you a taste, here's a video I took earlier of me in the shower: I can't figure out how to rotate the damn thing so you'll have to tilt your heads. Sorry. If I get motivated, I may try to organize a happy hour (or invite myself to someone else's). Happy Friday, ...

The Rain in Spain (or, um, Silver Spring)

Two accidents at the intersection in front of my building, the second of which seems to be a bit serious. Sligo Creek Parkway is closed (for potential flooding, methinks). Here's what the creek looks like now:

The Invisible Hand of God

Remember when you were a kid and you had those toy cars that you would pull backwards and then release? And, they would go speeding off? That's what I thought of when I was replaying these videos ... The Invisible Hand of God is all "eeeeeeeehhhn, eeeeeeeeeehhhn." And the salt truck is all "VROOOOOOOOOM!" And this plow truck is the same, 'cept it's all "VROOOOOOM!" then, "eeeeeeehhhn." Yeah, I was bored at work yesterday. What of it? I'm going to upload some photos to Flickr in a minnit.

Like MacArthur

I have returned. Many exciting adventures were had. Here are few video clips: NASCAR-themed restaurant at Charlotte Douglas International Airport (where I got to spend lots and lots and lots of time on Friday evening): Hello, Sailor (also at CDIA): At Christal's palatial estate: Random photos have been uploaded to flickr .

Fun with Videos

Vuboq is a little tipsy, so you must wait until tomorrow to hear the story of Vuboq Full of Grace and my trials and tribulations as a prescription drug mule. Until then... enjoy a few videos from Sunday: "Bad Touch": You and me baby ain't nothin' but mammals So let''s do it like they do on the Discovery Channel Do it again now You and me baby ain't nothin' but mammals So let's do it like they do on the Discovery Channel

The Times. They Are a-Changin'.

Anyone else lose an hour somewhere? So very tired this morning. But, I had a very good weekend. Not only did I finish the Never-Ending Sweater of Doom (see pictures in previous entry), I also vacuumed the living room, tidied the kitchen, and spent loads of quality time with friends. Saturday evening, Mike and Robert picked me up. We got take-out Vietnamese (yum!) and watched The Departed at Bob and Bernard's house. Mike was dog-sitting for them. I was not expecting to like The Departed , because I normally don't enjoy mob movies. This one was very good though. Highly entertaining. Although I found the final shot -of the rat on the balcony- to be a bit contrived and unnecessary. I kept thinking "How did the rat get up there?" Sunday, I spent the morning blobbing around the house (and recovering from the red wine hangover). Mike picked me up around 3 and we hung out in Dupont Circle, meeting Robert and running into Steveandbobby. Mike, Robert, and I went to Alero for d...

Oklahoma is OK!

And the whistlin' wheat sure smells sweet when the wind comes right behind the rain. Does anyone have a copy of The Grapes of Wrath I could borrow? Preferably paperback ... and with that old paperback book smell. Thanks. Meanwhile, VUBOQ is bored ... maybe I'll make some videos. Oooh. That's it. If anyone has any video suggestions, leave them in the comments and I'll try to oblige. Unless, of course, if they are pervy. Then, I'll definitely oblige. ha. I jest. *smooches*
