Weekend Update: Inside We Are All the Same Edition

Image
Good Evening, Kittens! Pride Weekend comes to a close. And, I did absolutely nothing Pride related, other than being Gay and Out and About.  Which, I suppose, is the point of the whole thing. SO, on Friday, I left work a *smidge* early to go to the doctor.  Good times.  Luckily, all is well :-) ... Then, I booked it to Union Station and hopped on a train to Baltimore. My friend, V from Philly, wanted to meet up for the Orioles-Philly baseball game.  So, I was all like, OK.  As long as it doesn't go into extra quarters or anything. (and there ends my "haha VUBOQ doesn't know anything about sports even though during the game, much to the surprise of V, he accurately called a particular hit as a ground rules double" joke). The game was fun.  Much beer was drunk.  Here's a picture of us at the game: It's not the cutest picture I took, but, if you're a friend of mine on the Facebooks, you've seen the cutest picture already After the game, w...

12 of 12: June Edition

Good Afternoon, Kittens. What a SuperFun Weekend! I had almost convinced myself not to go to the Pride Parade (too hot!), but I'm so glad I did. I got to hang out with Polt and His Posse of Hot Womenz! So. Much. Fun. On Sunday, I skipped the Street Festival (too hot!), but still managed to have a good time. It's been AGES since I've written a 12 of 12 post. BUT, I managed to take some photos. At some point, I should fill you in on *all* the excitement of the weekend, but -for now- this will have to do ... Homophobia is Gay Pretty flower garden on the walk to Downtown Silver Spring I returned the Penguins Pretty flowers on the walk back home Naptime with Miss Isabella Silver Spring Metro. On my way to a rooftop party The View from the top Brianna gets too friendly with Mike (Who Makes Cakes) The View a little later On the walk home Miss Isabella is all "where have you been?" And, that, my dears, was my 12th of June. Hope you are having a great day! *SMOOCHE...

Good evening, Kittens! Tomorrow, I am heading to Denver! Yay for work trips! Yay for conferences! Yay for random hook-ups with guys I've met online meeting new friends! And speaking of meeting new friends, Saturday was the DC Pride Parade! YAY! And, OMG Kittens, prepare to be jealerz ... I met Polt ! YAY! Srsly, he is so awesome (and we only got to talk for a few minutes) I just wanted to give him big huggles. It's so cool to meet genuinely nice people. *sigh* ANYWAY, I totes forgot that it was the 12th, so no 12 of 12 post (even though I took a boatload of pix). Here are a few DC PrideParade photos: SCGB and I looking all cute (prior to totally melting in the heat/humidity) They were doing this acrobatic shit on a MOVING truck. Srsly. Crazy! I can haz Rainbow Beads FTW And, all of my Parade pix are here . After the parade (and meeting his Purpleness Polt*), Mike (Who Makes Cakes) and Ray and I, headed over to the Restaurant Formerly Known As Food Bar (But Now Call...

Weekend Update: Pride Edition

Image
Good Morning, Kittens. What an odd experience this Pride was. I mean, I was mostly sober for the whole thing. Weird. But, it was still fun. Saturday, after an intense (and frustrating) morning of yard work, I spent the afternoon planning my outfit for the parade. It's so important to look cute(r) for these kind of things. Balloons and furry Uggs? Not my look. I opted for skinny jeans from UniQlo and an awesome Secretworm T-shirt (You, too, can be Just as Cool as VUBOQ by clicking here ). Before the parade, Jerry had a small gathering at his home to show off his newly remodeled kitchen. Fun times! Free booze! Hurrah! I left with Mike, Brian, Gerardo, and Kerry (a woman we met at the party who was v. cool) to stake out a fun spot along the parade route. We ended up at JRs "Beer Garden". And, then, it got really crowded and unpleasant, so Mike and I walked down the street a bit to a less populated part of the route. Much. Nicer. The parade was awesome ... but...

The Pride Parade in a Few Pictures

Image
Good Morning, Kittens! Here are a few photos from the parade. No one should be allowed to look this cute. New friends. Men dancing in their underwear. What more does one need? The rest of the pix are here . And I'm off to the street festival this afternoon. *smooches*

Rainbows

Good Morning, Kittens. It's a Bright Sunny Day here in Vutopia, which is kind of odd considering the weather forecast was for Rain Rain Rain and More Rain. And then a little bit of Rain. I was supposed to go hiking with a friend in Great Falls (MD side) today, but we abandoned those plans because of the forecast. Of course, had we decided to go it would be pissing it down right now. And, my guess is if we still go, it will start storming as soon as we get there. That would be how my luck goes. My plans for the weekend are chock full of fun and excitement. It's Pride! Yay! Time to put on extra supercute clothes and sashay around DC frightening tourists and attracting teh menz. Saturday (after a fun-filled morning of Co-Op Yard Work Day), I will be going to a Pre-Parade Happy Hour at Jerry's. Then, we'll walk down to the parade. I don't feel like going out after the parade. I know, I'm boring. And slightly broke (although that didn't stop me from dr...

Weekend Update: Pridealicious Edition

Good morning, kittens! What a weekend I had. On Friday, Tomokito, Across the Way Neighbor, and I went to Adega for dinner. Then, Tomokito went home, and AtWN and I met Carolyn for Sex and the City . Yes, I've seen it. But, I didn't have much else to do on Friday night. The movie was fun the second time as well. Saturday, I blobbed around the house until around 4. Tomokito and I headed into the District to meet Mike, some of his friends, and Y for the DC Pride Parade. It was fun, but WET. Very Rainy. You can check out my photos on Flickr: DC Gay Pride 2008 . The Straight Guy had fun at Pride, too. We left the parade a bit early and went to Straits of Malaya for dinner. YUM. On the way home, Y and I had a bit of a spat. I won't go into details; I'll just say that one of us was being a little childish. And it wasn't me. Unfortunately, because I was peeved, there was no I-won't-be-seeing-you-for-five-days-because-you-are-going-to-a-conference good-bye secks. Oh, wel...

Weekend Update: Rude and Unfriendly Edition

Image
Interesting weekend this Pride was. Overall, it was just like last year ... without the heartbreak or the hot sex. I guess no Pride is perfect. The weird thing about Pride is it's fun to get out and see friends, some of whom I haven't seen in years, and to meet some new people, and to drink loads and laugh, but the background scenery never changes: Same floats. Same people. Same booths. Same crowds. I dunno ... I look forward to Pride, but then while it's happening it seems sort of blah. Here's the run-down: Friday, Robert, Tomoko and I went to Halo for happy hour. Then, Mike joined us at Alero for margs and mexican food. After two pitchers and dinner, we ended up at Omega. Mike and I got into this conversation in the porn room, in which we reminisced about what we were doing last year (having lots of sex). I mentioned that I'm glad we did hook up, because otherwise we probably never would have become good friends. Darryl, our mutual friend, likes to keep his differ...

Pride. It Goeth Before the Fall.

Last night, I met up with a former co-worker and envirobuddy, Dana, for drinks at a new restaurant, Gallery. New restaurant. Old crowd. And, one of Dana's friends was not too pleasant to be around. It was a total blast catching up with Dana though ... Perhaps, a more interesting venue next time, D? After leaving Gallery, we headed over to the Whole Foods Plaza. Mmmm ... eggplant fries at Adega. And cute counter help. *giggle* Lots going on this weekend. Not only is today the one year anniversary of the breakup with the cheating cheater, BUT it is also Capitol Pride. *woot* Tonight, the kittens are gathering at Halo for happy hour [and might I add that I look particularly cute today]. Tomorrow, some of us are going with Mike to an afternoon Pre-Pride Parade Party and, then, staggering down the street to watch the parade. I don't have any plans for Sunday, but I'm fairly certain I will end up at the Street Festival at some point during the afternoon. Finally, to get everyone...
