Undateable

Good Evening, Kittens.
I guess I need to fill you in on all the fun and excitement of my week.

There was none.

Ta-da!

Haha.  I kid.  There was some.  The best part was the celebrating Tomokito's Birthday with many, many margaritas on Monday afternoon, and then trekking into DC for an Adult Sleepover with K (although there wasn't a whole lot of sleeping ... *ahem*).

While I was on my way to his place, he texted and said I should meet him at his friends' house in Columbia Heights.  So I did.  We had drinks there.  His friends are nice.  A showed up (if you remember, it was at A's birthday brunch way back in -like- March where I met K).  Another mutual friend showed up.  We left.  Went back to K's place and commenced Sleeping Over (in an Adult way).

Tuesday morning = UGH.  Actually, most of Tuesday = UGH.  It was a rough day.

Wednesday, I did laundry.

Thursday, OMG, that's today!  I had to sit through an ALL-DAY Health & Safety Awareness Training.  It was horrible.  Boring.  Tedious.  The chairs were uncomfortable.  Luckily, I had my nook and was able to read a sizable chunk of  Game of Thrones, Book 2.  Once home, I went for a run.  Picked up my dry cleaning.  Ate leftover pizza.  And made myself a FUCKING margarita, because, after a day like today, I fucking DESERVED it!  Oh, hell, yeah!

On the plus side, tomorrow is Friday Friday Gotta Get Down on Friday!  And, I will be meeting the wonderful (yet, shows no mercy word game player) Tornwordo and his hubby for happy hour and dinner.  They are visiting the DeeCee for the weekend.  Huzzah!  Excited!

On Saturday (and this is where the undateable portion comes in), I am going to a Wedding Party.  A good friend of mine got married in April in the US Virgin Islands.  The Happy Couple is having a party/reception/thing here in the DC for their friends.  It should be a blast.  However, Option #1 cancelled last minute.  Options #2-4 are all busy.  Option #5 is CRAY-CRAY, so I'm not even going to ask him.  THUS, I will be going by myself.  GAH.  Let us hope there is at least one other cute, single guy who is fun and chatty and (possibly) drunk and not ashamed to look like an idiot on the dance floor.  On the plus side, my outfit (the party is formal, but not black tie) is Super Cute.  I will probably be the only guy not in a dark suit.  I'm opting for my more summery and hot weather appropriate tan mini houndstooth suit.  Oh, yeah.

No plans yet for Sunday.  I may be hanging with the Tornwordo again.  But, I also have some errand-y like things to do, too.

Good times.

Stay tuned for the Weekend Update.

Weekend Update: A Weekend of Memories

Good Morning, Sweet, Sweet Kittens!  And Happy Memorial Day!  And, OMG, what a weekend I have been having.  *whew*  Boozy Good Times!  Plus, making out with hot boys!  Oh, yeah.

So, Thursday, after work, I met Bobby (of SteveandBobby) and Jerry for Happy Hour at 9.  Two-for-one drink special = 4 Gins and Tonic.  And a very intoxicated VUBOQ.  We parted early.  I needed food.  And, apparently, a bottle of wine (i didn't drink all of it), which I picked up on my walk home.

Friday morning, someone was a little overhung.  BUT, I managed to survive and headed into the DeeCee to meet Eric (not from Baltimore) for lunch.  A couple of glasses of the hair of the dog and I was good as new.  Yay!

After lunch, I bought new sunglasses (I left my sunglasses at K's house ... and I was tired of squinting.  Squinting causes teh eye wrinklez.  And we don't like those!)

Once home, I did a little cleaning/organizing and napping.  Eric from Baltimore came down around 5.  While we waited for Tomokito to get home from work, we had margaritas.   Yum!  Once Tomokito arrived, we had more margaritas and, then, we headed to Alero in Dupont Circle for (you guessed it!) more margaritas.

Mmmm.  Margaritas.

SCGB joined us and after a few more margaritas, we walked over  Cobalt for bad cheap vodka drinks (which are free from 11 to midnight) and fun fun dancing!

I think we got home around 1AM?

Saturday morning?  Very very very hungover.

In fact, much of the morning and afternoon was spent like this:

Lazy Saturday afternoon

A neighbor brought by a bag of split peas, so I made soup.  Soup made me feel better ... as did the glass of wine I drank while making it.  Chef's Little Helper!  YAY!

That evening, I took C (remember him?) out to dinner to celebrate him earning his phd.  Dinner was very boozy.  We got back to my place, took a walk in the park, and then did lots of making out.  Mmmm. I like making out.  Then, he left.

And I had a little photo session ...

Sunday morning?  Not too overhung.  Yay!  I wandered up to DTSS to meet CJ for brunch.  We were going to go to Austin Grill but it was closed (even though they were supposed to be open.  WTF?).  Instead, we went to Eggspectations.  And, after brunch, we went to see "The Avengers."  Fun film.  Lots of explosions.  After the movie, CJ left.  I bought a bottle of prosecco to take to a party.  And, then, had a bite to eat Lebanese Taverna.

The party was at SCGB's house.  I invited R (remember him?  from Easter brunch?) and he actually came with me.  He is very cute.  And nice.  And he seemed to have fun at the party.  I had fun at the party at least.  Good drinks.  Delicious food.  and Dancing!  R decided to head home so I walked him out.  And we got to make out for a little bit.  Yay!  He is also fun to kiss.  And it was raining.  So I got to have a total Andie MacDowell in "Four Weddings and a Funeral" moment: "Is it raining?  I hadn't noticed." Possibly the worst movie line in the entire history of bad movie lines.  And I got to use it in a real life situation.  Yay me!  Winning!

I would have probably followed him home, except Tomokito was at the party too.  So we returned to Silver Spring together.

Which brings us to today.  I totally have a shit-ton of house stuff to do. Ironing.  Cleaning. Ugh.  But, this evening, I am going to K's for an adult sleepover.  Yay!

Good times and possibly the Best Weekend EVER!

Bullet Points

Good Afternoon, Kittens.

It's been awhile, so let's play catch up with a quick, bullet-pointed list of what's been happening.  When I last wrote and update, I was in Atlanta ...

  • The hot guy came over again on Thursday evening (May 10th).
  • It was fun.  BUT, once again, I proved to myself that I really don't enjoy casual hooking up.
  • I need emotional connection as well.
  • May 11th, last day of class.  Yay!
  • Mexican food with my friend, Christal, and her Very Obstinate 2-year-old, MAC.

Mmmm. Yummy CSA Organic Strawberry, Imma gonna eat you all up.

  • May 16th, did a shit-ton (metric) of laundry.
  • May 17th.  D came over.  We had the oral secks.  And, he got so light-headed he nearly passed out.  Yes.  I am that good.
  • However, I have come to the realization that D is a little Cray-Cray.  And I need to step back slowly.
  • May 18th, I had a job interview.  It went well.
  • And I got my hairs redid.  Yay for blond!

Hairz did. Back to my "natural" color

  • May 19th, I bought some plants for the garden (basil and peppers)
  • Then, I went shopping in DeeCee.
  • And went for margaritas and Mexican food with Mario in Cleveland Park.
  • And then went to the zoo.
  • And then was picked up by a hot guy (K.  Remember him?).
  • And we had the fun oral secks.  And a nap.
  • Then I took the metro home and ate frozen pizza and gelato.
  • And drank wine.
  • May 20th (today!), I planted the plants I bought yesterday.
  • I'm going to Adega for lunch.
  • And then I need to iron
  • And call my parents

  • And watch a movie.
  • And write my interview thank you emails.
*whew*  Do you feel all caught up now?

Hope your weekend has been fabulous!

Gearing Up for the Great Pottery Give-Away, Spring 2012

KITTENS!

I am back from Atlanta.  How much did you miss me?  I'll fill you in on my final few days there later, but -for now-  how about I inundate you with pottery pictures?

My neighbor, K-Factor, picked up most of my finished pieces from the studio while I was away.  I am still missing (maybe) 3 things.  I am thinking 2 bowls and a mug.  I could be wrong.  Even though I took photos of most of my works in progress, I still can't remember what is left.

Anyway, here are a few pics ...

Spiral Mug Pair

Handbuilt Mug

Large-ish Bowl

As you know, I only allow myself to keep one (or two) pieces each session ... otherwise, my home would be overrunneth with ceramic goodness.  I still haven't quite decided what I am going to keep this time.  Once I do, it's Open Season on my pottery (especially if you are local ... Shipping pottery can be expensive).

So, take a looksee here.  Let me know what you like.  Maybe the Pottery Fairy will visit your home in the coming months ...

Happy Saturday!

Wetlanta

Good Afternoon, Kittens!

Greetings from the City Formerly Known as Hotlanta. The past few days have been rainy and muggy.  Blah.  Today seems much nicer though.  And, my afternoon class was cancelled, so I have some time to update Ye Olde BloggyThing ... and possibly catchup on some Sligo Co-op business. Or go for a run.  I ran 4.67 miles on Tuesday.  And, here's an interesting factoid: Atlanta? It is not flat.  It is HILLY!  Gah.

Anyway, I arrived on Sunday afternoon.  D was nice enough to offer to drive me to the airport.  Hurrah.  I took the train from the airport to the hotel.  Easy Peasy!  and only $2.50.  Bargain.  I checked in. Unpacked.  Took a nap.  And, then, searched for a place to eat.  I ended up at Mellow Mushroom, only a few blocks away.

Pizza. There may also be beer.Yum.  Pizza.

My days have been mostly the same.  Class.  Break. Class.  Lunch.  Class. Break.  Class.  Dinner. Blob in my room watching cable.

Dinner last night was special though.  I met up with my friend, Patty, who I used to work with in Japan.  She is totally awesome.  And we had a great time catching up.  Our first stop was this local donut shop, Sublime Donuts.  I bought an assorted dozen to take to class this morning.  They were tasty (see picture above).  Then, we went to Cafe Sunflower, a vegetarian (possibly vegan) restaurant.  The food was delicious.  I had some sort of polenta dish.

And here is a photo of Patty and Me:

Aren't we cute?

Once I got back to the hotel, a handsome young man contacted me via the Grindr, so I invited him over.  I had told myself I wasn't going to entertain guests this trip, but -OMG- this guy is soooooo totally my type: tall (6'4"), big (225 lbs?) but not fat (y'know, sort of football-player-y thick), 35 years old, shaved head, beard, dark skin, beautiful eyes, great kisser ... *sigh* ... We had a lot of fun.  And, I am hoping for a repeat performance tonight.  We shall see ...

And, that's about all the news that's fit to print.  There are a few other Atlanta pics on my flickr.

Have a great day!

Good Saturday Evening, Kittens.

I'm sure most of you are out drinking many many pitchers of liquid sunshine in celebration of this most joyous of (pseudo)holidays, Cinco de Mayo.  For those of you who aren't, here's a brief update on my life ...

Things with D are in a weird holding pattern for right now ... his intriguing backstory (which I don't feel comfortable sharing across the internetz) has reared its ugly head and is causing ... well ... drama.  I'm pretty sure he likes me, but he needs to get his head on straight before anything moves forward, IMHO.

Other than that, work has been yucky (as one would expect).  I have several BIG deadlines approaching.  Ugh.

After work on Friday, my co-worker and I headed to Austin Grill in Silver Spring to celebrate Quatro de Mayo.  My huge nose zit, Stan, joined us.

I bought a lottery ticket.

I did not win.

Today, I ran 7.25 miles.  Then, I headed into the DeeCee to meet my friend (who wants to be more than friends ... it is not -entirely- reciprocated), R.  He was late.  Metro is INSANE this weekend.  Fortunately, Mike (Who Makes Cakes) just happened to be in Dupont Circle at the same time.  So I got to catch up with him (and meet a friend of his who is visiting from San Antonio).  Good times.

R finally arrived and we went to Alero.  $5 Margaritas!  Spinach quesadillas!  FREE Cinco de Mayo Mustaches!  Good times.

And, I came home and packed ...

Yep.  Packed.

I am going on a work trip to Atlanta.  HOT-Lanta!  The City Full of Tasty Menz (so I hear)!  I'll be in training Mon-Fri.  Friday evening, I'll be meeting up with my good friend, Christal, and hanging out with her (and her -no longer a baby- Baby MAC) until my flight back on Saturday morning.  Good times!

If anyone else who reads this blog (all two of you) lives in Atlanta, leave a comment.  Maybe we can hang out!  I love meeting my Kittens :-) ... especially when they buy the drinks (haha!).

I am sure I will have loads of free time in Atlanta (I mean, really, what is there to do there?), so I'll hopefully be able to update a tad more frequently.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Week Update: A Whole Lotta Shit's Been Happenin' Edition

Good Evening, Kittens!

Apologies for the lack of the updates.  I've been busy.  Last week, I met this new guy.  Let's call him "D."  D is totally my physical type: tallish, my age, dark-skinned, bald, and thick. He's also very into running. And, he's an early riser.  He gets up before I do.  So, last week, our first "date" was on Tuesday.  We went for a 3.5 mile run together.  Wednesday and Thursday, he came over in the mornings after his run and we had the very hot oral secks.  We did not meet up over the weekend, because I was in the New York City.

I had been planning to visit the NYC for quite some time.  Namely, to see David in the Gilbert and Sullivan show, Utopia, Ltd.  But, as it turns out, there was another reason for me to go: There was a DNA hit on a bandana recovered at the scene of my mugging in Brooklyn last year.  The guy the bandana was linked to is a Very Bad Kid, part of a gang that has been linked to multiple muggings, burglaries, home invasions, and rape.  The ADA wanted me to come up and testify to the Grand Jury.  Of course, I'm willing to do whatever I can (and they paid to change my train ticket).

So, I arrived Very Late on Friday evening.  I went straight to Jake's place.  We chatted.  I crashed.  In the morning, we went to Enid's to have brunch:

Fried jalapeno cheese grits at Enid's!Hello, Fried Jalapeno Cheese Grits.  Get in my belleh!

After brunch, we ran a few errands, watched some Game of Thrones, Season 1, and, then, headed into Manhattan.  Stop #1?  UNI-QLO, aka the Greatest Store EVER.  We went to the new one near Penn Station. This was a recon mission only.  I didn't want to drag bags of clothes around with me, so I scouted out what I wanted, took pics, made mental notes, and prepared to come back on Monday afternoon before my train home.

Then, we grabbed a bite to eat at a cute little Mexican place.  Nom.  And, then, we headed to the show.

Waiting for the show to begin

It was really good.  Not nearly as boring as I expected.  Lots of cute boys in the cast.  Not enough homo-eroticism, though.  David was fabulous, of course.  After the show, David, Jake, and I walked to Fetch, which is the bar where the cast always hangs out after the show.  Good times.  I got home very late.

On Sunday morning, I left around 10ish to meet Nida at the Highline.  I got to meet her son, who is a total cutie-patootie.  He fell asleep and we had a lovely Thai lunch.  Nom nom nom.  And, then, we walked around for quite a bit, catching up.  I am so jealous, because Nida is moving to Italy this summer.  On the bright side, I have a wonderful reason to visit Italy in the next couple of years!  Yay!

After Nida (and her son) left, Jake met me in Union Square and we headed to Hell's Kitchen to meet my Burmese friend, Min.  We had a plan to go to one bar, Industry, but it was dead.  So we found this other place that had patio seating and $5 happy hour margaritas.  oh, yeah....

Untitled

After that, we headed back to Industry.  It was still dead, but 2 for 1 drinks!  YAY!  And, free yo-yos.  Mmmhmm.  You heard me.  Free.  Yo-yos.

Untitled

One of Min's friends joined us and we went to a little Thai place for dinner.

After dinner, we parted ways.  Jake and I watched more Game of Thrones. And then I went to bed.

Monday was a big day!  Grand Jury Testimony!  Unfortunately, I left the address of where I was supposed to meet the ADA at home (in Silver Spring. oops).  Jake and I thought we had figured out the correct address.

We hadn't.  I got to the address, went to the 18th floor, told the security guard who I was supposed to meet, and he was all, "I don't know who that is."

And I was all, "Well, this is a problem."

Fortunately, I had her phone number.  I called.  She didn't answer.  I left a message.  And PANICKED!

Haha.  No, I didn't.  I thanked the Lord GAWD Almighty, Bill Gates, for inventing the smart phone.  I looked up the Brooklyn DA's office online, found a number for the Gang Bureau, and spoke to a lovely woman who said, "STAY PUT.  SHE'S COMING TO FIND YOU."

Luckily, staying put is one of the things I do best.

And, she did.  Well, one of the officers who assisted me when I was mugged, and was also testifying, recognized me and found me.  And, the, I testified.  The ADA said it went well.  We headed back to her office so I could be reimbursed for my train ticket expenses.  And, then, I headed to Manhattan to meet Ray for lunch.

We went to the Coffee Shop on Union Square.  Hello, strawberry caipirinha!  So super tasty. I may have had two.  Then, we went to ... you guessed it! ... Uni-Qlo!  It was so much fun.  Here's the haul:

The HaulWhy, yes, those are HOUNDSTOOTH JEANS that you see

Two pairs of cute jeans.  Two dress shirts.  One supercute hoodie.  3 t-shirts.  6 pairs of socks.  $200.  Not.  Too. Shabby.

After our crazy shopping excursion, Ray had to go back to work.  Boo.  I went to the train station.  And had just enough time for 2 beers, bathroom, and buying food before boarding the train home.

I got back to my place a little before 9PM.  Sweet.  Other NYC photos are here.

This morning, D came over.  We had superfun multi-orgasmic buttsecks.  And, then,  I went to work.

So ... How was your week/weekend?
